City in Collaboration Stockholm

A Christmas market with over 100,000 visitors?
City i Samverkan Stockholm makes a service effort to be able to keep Drottninggatan clean during the important Christmas shopping season. At the same time, they take the chance to take a place in town with their own designed units that are well seen in the crowd and tell about this year's Christmas market at Sergelstorg. With many visitors produced a lot of junk. The goal is for Stockholm to have a clean and litter-free city centre that is welcome for everyone.
"The new bins BigBelly on Drottninggatan is part of the continued work for a clean, tidy and safe Stockholm City that is open and welcoming to everyone", says Per Ericksson CEO City in Collaboration Stockholm.

On Drottninggatan passes during a big weekend up to 100 000 visitors

In places where BigBelly devices, it is common for 180 litre bins to be emptied several times a day. "During the week of Lucia celebrations and Nobel festivities, it took instead 4 days before the first BigBelly the device switched from green to yellow marking, indicating that it is 60% full," says Per Duvner, Project Manager at EWF ECO for City in Collaboration Stockholm.
The capacity for collecting litter will increase even more in the City during the Christmas and New Year holidays. The week before Christmas, the Technical Office exhibited 6 BigBelly permanently on Sergelstorg and Hötorget, which corresponds to 4 cubic collection in ordinary bins.
